What did you do this past week?

This was a pretty slow week for me. I didn’t have any tests or projects due. For this class I attended the lectures and have begun the mental pre-processing stage for the Darwin Project. For fun this week I went rock climbing and went to a Halloween party at a friends apartment. I also registered for classes on Thursday. I got into a class called Rhetoric of The Wire to get my last writing flag that I am pretty excited for.

What’s in your way?

This week things are ramping up considerably. I have two exams on Tuesday. One exam in Theory of Computation in the afternoon and one in Government at night. I recently found out that these two classes have the exact same exam schedule, which is something I’ve never had happen before.

What will you do next week?

I have two exams to study for on Tuesday so that will be the main focus of the beginning of the week. I am probably only going to study for Government in between that test and my Theory of computation test because I did that last time and it worked out pretty well. My partner and I are then going to have to work pretty hard on Wednesday and Thursday to get Darwin done on time.

What was your experience of the vector implementation? (this question will vary, week to week)

My learning of the vector implementation went pretty smoothly. I had not thought to use swap for the copy assignment implementation. I also had not considered the issues involved in accidentally deleting the allocated space in weird cases like x = x where x is a vector.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is if you are into movies at all, you should look into an Austin Film Society membership. I see at least one or two free movies every week, including a lot of great stuff I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. So far, the $20 a month has been well worth it for me.
