and The Guardian’s headline doesn’t help matters either. I did write to Sam Levin, the author of the article:

Subject: Your choice of title is carelessly racist
“Facebook temporarily blocks Black Lives Matter activist after he posts racist email” seems to imply that the BlackLivesMatter activist wrote the racist e-mail. You do clarify this in your first paragraph, but by then it is too late. White people reading the title will feel their racism justified and that FB’s decision was justifiable as well.
Why don’t you or your editors change the title to better reflect reality?
“Facebook temporarily blocks Black Lives Matter activist after he receives racist email”
or better yet,
“Facebook temporarily blocks victim of racist email for speaking outl”
or you could dig a little deeper and name the racist writer of the e-mail, in your headline.
Why is it that the MSM doesn’t name the names of white racist murderers so that their names are as common knowledge as are the names of their victims? For example, are you able to name the killers of Medgar Evers or the perpetrators of the 16th St Baptist Church bombing without looking it up?
Please don’t wiggle out of it by blaming it on the editors.
