Rajasthan is full of the surprisesRanthamboreNational Park aka Tiger Reserve is tucked between Aravali& Vindhya mountain ranges in SawaiMadhopurspread over 282km² areas at height of 215 to 505 meters above sea level. It has a large population of tigers as compared to any other wildlife sanctuary. The Project Tiger was started in 1973 which was the most challenging yet successful project and lead to an increase in the tiger population from 26 to 34 and more than 14. The great news is that in 2014 the tiger count raised to 62 tigers which is a commendable effort by forest officials.

Ranthambore NP is home to more than 300 bird species, over 500 wild animals and over 300 species of flora that invites photographers, wildlife lovers across the world. Apart from the tigers there, the fauna here is diversified with big cat, boars, deers, leopard, Jackal, Hyena, civet, crocodile python, desert fox, mongoose. The interesting thing about RNP is that it provides food and shelter to all birds, animals, trees, and plants. Abundant availability of water bodies in the form of Talaos/ lakes makes it possible to serve and takes care of the huge number of fauna and flora present here providing relief in high temperatures. The most commonly spotted animals are deer,Sāmbhardeer, Gazelle Chinkaraand Bluebull.

Every scene with worth admiring enormous crocodiles relaxing beside the lake or beautiful bluebull roaming around in the grass fieldor bird playing in the water, animals drinking water all these scenes makes a perfect clickable landscape that will fill you with happiness. It’s a heaven for bird lovers, home to birds like Kingfisher, Cormorant,Painted Spurfowl, Bronze-winged Jacana, Sandpiper, Nightjar, Sarus Crane, horned owl, Sandgrouse, and many others.

Ranthambore National Park is rich in flora with over 300 species. Due to the proximity with the TharDesert, the area receives light rainfall makes it dense tropical dry forest and grassy meadowland. The Reserve encompasses manylow perennial lakes with steep hills, gentle slopes, plateaus, narrow valleys, etc due to its location on the verge of a plateau between the Banasand Chambal Rivers. The prominent trees are Dhok,Babul, Gum,Banyan, Gurjan, Accacia, Kadam and Pipal makes the major percentage of the vegetation cover and is found of hill slopes and valleys. 80% of them are Dhok that grows rich because of the good quality soil formation in the area. Banyan &Neemtree is known for its medicinal uses and Pipal is worshipped. The amazing fact is that the largest Banyan tree of India is at Jogimahal in RNP. Fruit trees grown here are Mango, Jamun, Ber, Tamarind, Chhila and many more.
