Motive, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) studio, announced today during their Crafting the Tension Art Developer Livestream that Dead SpaceTM will be released on January 27, 2023, for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Dead Space is a reimagining of the classic sci-fi survival horror game, built from the ground up with the FrostbiteTM game engine. The remake, while staying true to the original game’s thrilling vision, offers enhanced audio and crisp, harrowing visuals that have been meticulously reimagined to evoke a new level of immersion and quality.Classic Sci-Fi Survival Horror Is Back When Dead Space Launches January 27, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC

“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive because we’re big fans of the franchise and want to treat it right.” “It’s been equally exciting to see players’ reactions as we’ve taken them on this development journey with us,” said Phillippe Ducharme, Dead Space Senior Producer. “We’re making great progress toward Alpha, and we’re excited to announce that the game will be available in January of next year.” We can’t wait for old and new players to see how we’ve improved on the original experience in the remake to make it just as impactful for this generation.”

Dead Space places players in the shoes of Isaac Clarke, an ordinary engineer on a routine mission to repair the USG Ishimura, a massive mining starship. A living nightmare, however, awaits aboard the Ishimura. The crew of the ship has been slaughtered and infected, and Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole, is missing on board. Alone and trapped, Isaac must fight for his life not only against terrifying monsters known as Necromorphs but also against his own deteriorating sanity.

Also revealed today in the Dead Space Livestream, the Motive team showcased an early look at how the remake visually evolves and updates the original, with in-game props, tools, environments, and more being reconstructed to a level of polish and details fit for the next generation of hardware and PCs. Furthermore, by combining enhancements such as dynamic, volumetric lighting with atmospheric and environmental VFX rendered in full-HDR, Dead Space allows players to confront the terrifyingly tight corridors and shadowed hallways of the USG Ishimura with unprecedented levels of immersion for the beloved franchise.

Will Isaac survive to solve the terrible mystery of what happened to the slaughtered crew and ship, or will he perish in the cold vacuum of space? Dead Space will be released worldwide on January 27, 2023, for PlayStationR5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
