Actually there is no problem with it. Stefanie (and the respondents below) are simply engaging in poor shaming. They’re the same kind of people that get absolutely outraged if someone on SNAP benefits has the temerity to own a cell phone. They seem to believe that poor/broke people should act and behave how they envision poor/broke people should act. Usually this is coming from people who have never actually lived in that situation for any period of time.
