They were probably testing it out. A lot of identity thieves will try to incur small charges in the hopes that the companies and the cardholder don’t notice. If they go through, then they hit them for big charges.

I had one of my credit cards used at a hotel in Detroit. Dude also bought 800 dollars worth of stuff at a pawn shop. I’ve never even been to Detroit. Crazy.
