Cardi B is no slouch when it comes to online beef and she definitely is no stranger to twitter drama. She was drawn into an online back and forth with disgruntled Travis Scott fans who were mad that Bronx native won the best Rap Album 2019 Grammy award instead of the favorite Travis.

This came after the Astroworld artists fans watched his Netflix documentary “Look Mom I can Fly” and saw his backstage reaction at the 2019 Grammy Awards when Cardi b was announced as the winner.

True to Cardi’s style she went on a long twitter tirade against the trolls and never backed down. She had a dope project and definitely her debut Invasion of Privacy album deserved to win over Astroworld because they should not have been nominated in the same category in the first place. The two albums are in different genres. Duh!

The nominated projects for the Grammy’s Best Rap category were Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, Mac Miller’s Swimming, Pusha T’s Daytona, Travis Scott’s Astroworld, Nipsey Hussle Victory Lap. If we are talking about a solid real rap album that deserved that award, the award should have gone to either Pusha T’s Daytona or the late Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap. But that’s just me not the panel at the Grammy’s.

There is a problem nominating Astroworld in the same category as these albums because it is not a rap album. Alternative music yes. Travis Scott a middle class kid from Houston has himself said in the past that his music is not rap or hiphop. The mistake made by most mainstream outlets is that any black artist with bling is erroneously labeled as a rapper regardless of the fact that they make melodies, auto tune music, sing, mumble, hum or whatever. This is where the misconception comes from and it comes from most writers not being of the “culture” or not educated on the “culture”. This leads to the confusion that is being witnessed online from fans.

The trolls or “fans” on social media are vicious and let their emotions get in the way of the facts. And the fact of the matter is Cardi B made a rap album and Travis Scott made an alternative album so should not have been nominated in the same category.

Cardi B’s album was the right winner (sort of) and these trolls online need to relax. The fans are allowed to feel a way and they should take it up with the Grammy committee for nominating Astroworld in the wrong category. Cardi is right to clap back tho. Let Bardi cook!
