Series 2: Crowd sourcing 2017 Elections Part I: Citizen Experience
I woke up, eat with streamed busy TV season beaming with drama; adult, elections, soap opera, kids cartoon contents etc. If verified by yesterday afternoon by now, the channel revert content out. The atmosphere outside and inside my house, our politicians dominate by giving handouts in campaigns, they create dependency of themselves using taxpayers’ money.
On evening before voting on the 8th August 2017, a moment of silence! A woman who will wake up tomorrow morning, take breakfast, shower, dress up, then scream, ‘Aki I don’t see my ID, it was here in my handbag last week!! Ghai!!!’ Then proceed to search for it in 12 handbags, and find it on 9th August behind mobile phone cover.
Queries, queues and fathers stripped with babies appear to cruise the line with ease. In farms of chores even in houses as conversations faze out. Later in the evening, I queried about the vote through television. We realize this election was never about change but people’s interests and most of us were just pawns. As we begin to look at things differently.
Opening my phone messages aaaah! ……humour continues in elections captive me during elections voting #GitheriMan does not need any fixing nor fundraising. He is just himself and I am sure he is a productive Kenyan who can afford his daily bread or should I say Githeri.

The tongue has become the power of life and death, as we write and post in social media. Those celebrating election victory, let them celebrate with humility. Those mourning about the elections, let them mourn with the fear of God. Don’t pour your frustrations.
The tongue has become the power of life and death, as we write and post in social media. Those celebrating election victory, let them celebrate with humility. Those mourning about the elections, let them mourn with the fear of God. Don’t pour your frustrations.
Events unfolded with lots of Whatsapp messages, Media news even from CNN/ Aljazeera beaming and opinions of political strategists exploring ongoing charade of vote tallying. Ordinary Kenyans felt that life must continue regardless of whether you lost or won, it is individual hard work and smartness that decide their destiny. Never fight at weakest hour. Never fight when emotionally charged. Do it when you are rational. All our actions at this hour are being directed by the heart and not the head.
I remembered a statement, BABA (Opposition presidential candidate) who should tell us when we resume sex! Is it after elections or after results are announced or after swearing in ♂. This uncertainty was causing tension and anxiety in my household, we are looking at each with my wife through corner of my eyes following tallying.
Taking the golden moment after voting wisely, let’s keep peace, we don’t want any casualties or deaths as a result of the elections. As seen during the repeat of 2007 election announced results by Election Commission of Kenya Chair, with stiff contest from Orange Democratic Movement.
Calm during Elections Voting turn into Tensions and anxiety as Votes streaming into the National Tallying Centre Screen at Bomas of Kenya. IEBC shares the form 34A that shows final result of presidential vote will be available to the public. The Craze absorbes Kenyans on Twitter who roast US Chief Observer, Former Secretary of State John Kerry, US Ambassador to Kenya Bob Godec and African Union Chief Observer, Former South Africa President Thambo Mbeki. Call them out for negative names and insults. Carter Center pour hot water on Kenyan election with challenging tallying of 2017 Presidential results.
If I was an IT expert testifying in a court, my experience alone would be insufficient to specify anything. Besides not being able to verify the source machine and it is role in the system, I would still find it very hard to explain why one even requires an account in this system.
It is only your guess who will be declared the winner in this election. I doubt whether it’s about the issue of “voters don’t like jokes”. Most of our people are yet to grasp the role of Member of County Assemblies or elected leaders. Actually our people expect MCAs to be implementers while in the real sense they are only supposed to oversight the Executive.
Shocking revelations from electorate verdicts includes a case of An Administration Police Officer (AP) wins a parliamentary seat in Ukambani. He’s amongst the three police officers who are making it the Parliament in this election. When former police officer Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai stepped on parliament grounds for the first time in 1998, he had been assigned to guard newly appointed cabinet Francis Nyenze. Mr Mbai will now join as equals, after both were elected members of 12th parliament.
Kenyans performed your civic duty and everyone else did but complaining here helps no one. I am sure there are other groups for such rhetoric. Let us stick to healthy issues here.
Things seem overly getting exaggerated through the social media. Some people would love political conflicts to take place in the country. Our communities cannot absorb it. People want to go back to work and do business. That’s my 2 cents. Let me leave fellow Kenyans to get some rest after hard fought political campaigns. I would hate to see our beloved country burn and feel trapped in a foreign country. I would hate it.
BREAKING NEWS. Violence erupts in Kondele, Kibera, Kawangare, Kangemi………………. Gun shots and Teargas all over!!
Kenya I have seen a lot of people leave their toothbrush in bathroom close to the wall not knowing that wall gecko enjoys leaking toothbrush and its saliva is poisonous to the body. Therefore, it is expedient that we advise our loved ones to always keep their toothbrush in a closed containers not too close to walls…………..
