I've never been good at the LWB reading. When I learned tarot (junior year in college and I will tell you how that started another time) I swiped several books on the tarot from an ex-hippie family member. The one that resonated with me the most suggested a Jungian style of reading, looking for archetypal imagery in the card illustration/number/suit and considering why that might feel relevant at that time to that querent. That practice unlocked a ton of creativity in me, but also led to stronger visual analysis of media, to a lifelong interest in cognitive science, and to getting pretty good at cold reading, an important life skill.
