Memes are one of the hugest trends in social media where people are using it to either communicate or express how they are feeling. It has become a trend where if you don’t tag your friends in memes daily, they start to question are we really actually friends? Yes, it seems silly to have that logic, but you can honestly find memes popping up on any social news feed. First of all, what is a meme? A meme is an idea, or style that spreads from one person to the next within a culture. It often tries to convey a certain meaning, theme, phenomenon or trend represented in that meme.

One mean I found to be very interesting and was a hot topic among people was the Evil Kermit a.k.a Kermit the Frog from muppets. In this image is a screenshot of Kermit the Frog talking with his nemesis Constantine dressed as a Sith Lord from the hit franchise Star Wars. Looking at the site Know Your meme, I got to learn exactly where this still had originated from, and how this came to be was when the film “Muppets Most Wanted,” was released in 2014 and the first meme was recognized on twitter.

In 2016 a twitter user “@aaannnnyyyyaaaa” had tweeted a screenshot of Evil Kermit and Kermit the Frog “me: sees a fluffy dog / me to me: steal him” and within a couple days, the tweet had gained over 31,800 likes and 22,500 retweets.

I believe this meme had spread like wildfire due to the fact it can relate to us individuals with how we are constantly at war with ourselves on should we do it or not. It’s our conscience telling us what is right and what is wrong.
