2022 was the year of introducing Rarity Garden and its first features, and 2023 will be all about connecting the dots and expanding on these ideas. In this article, we’ll summarize the progress made in 2022 and outline our plans for the new year, including the $UNIVERSE token and Unicorns collection.

2022

In 2022, Rarity Garden started out as one of many NFT rarity platforms, but it has since evolved and grown to include a variety of features. Not only can users hunt for NFTs using the live trading feature for free (no membership required), but they also have access to a range of additional features. In addition, Rarity Garden has been working on branching out and exploring innovative ideas to become a first-mover in various areas.

An important aspect of Rarity Garden’s development has been its close connection to the Computer Science thesis of its founder, Benny. This means that much of what you see on Rarity Garden, as well as its underlying foundation, is based on scientific research, numerous experiments, and hundreds of cups of coffee. This will continue to influence the development of Rarity Garden in 2023.

The Rarity Garden community has been very supportive over the past year, and it is known for being one of the most civilized and friendly communities in the crypto space. Some of the key accomplishments of 2022 include:

  • Initial platform development
  • Fully-fledged rarity engine
  • Cheapest ever minting with “Mint-On-Receive” (resulting in the Unicorns collection)
  • Fee ownerships for tradable collections
  • NFT live trading
  • NFT multi-batch transfer
  • First ever secured floors (“Burn and Return”) for Val Bochkov’s New World Money collection, including $UNIVERSE as a bonus for Unicorn holders
  • Benny’s Computer Science thesis “NFT Applications in the Metaverse”
  • Acquisition of Crosstec as a Web3 tech provider

For a single person, these are impressive achievements. Looking at this list should give you an idea of what to expect from Rarity Garden in 2023.

2023

The plans for 2023 can be broadly divided into the following categories:

  • Metaverse
  • Crosstec
  • Rarity Garden

1. Metaverse

Over the past year, Rarity Garden has collected a number of ideas related to the Metaverse. Rarity Garden OG users may remember that the platform has always intended to fully support The Otherside and its upcoming Metaverse. One of the ideas for The Otherside was directly inspired by Benny’s thesis “NFT Applications in the Metaverse.”

One application that is being developed for Rarity Garden users will allow almost all NFTs to be imported and used in supporting Metaverses. These are essentially all Metaverses that are open to importing 3D assets, with The Otherside being one of the most important. In order to export your NFT(s) using Rarity Garden, you will need $UNIVERSE tokens, and the Rarity Garden Unicorns collection will be the first to participate. Other collections may follow after.

As part of The Otherside, Rarity Garden will also be releasing its Mutant Unicorns collection. Only Rarity Garden Unicorn holders will be able to swap their unicorns for mutant ones. The swapped unicorns will be burned. There will be a maximum of 5000 mutant unicorns available. Both the regular and mutant unicorns will be part of an experience that takes place on The Otherside. To facilitate this, Rarity Garden will continue to purchase Deeds that will be used for this purpose.

However, Rarity Garden itself will get its own native Metaverse that co-exists alongside others and will focus on personal and practical experiences as well as innovative features. It’s likely that Metaverse-related content will be available on a separate platform within the Rarity Garden ecosystem.

2. Crosstec

Crosstec is the Web3 department of Rarity Garden. It will be responsible for developing all tech that is used for Metaverse projects, on Rarity Garden itself, and by customers who want to license the tech for their businesses. This includes Web2 companies that are looking to enter the Web3 space.

Crosstec was originally established in 2009 as a Web2 business, offering solutions for Content Management Systems such as Wordpress and Joomla. While it will continue to focus on these, Crosstec’s goal is to incorporate Web3 solutions in a way that is accessible to those coming from a Web2 background. Crosstec aims to be the “glue” that connects Web2 and Web3.

3. Rarity Garden

Rarity Garden remains an NFT consumer platform, offering the following:

  • NFT community
  • NFT marketplaces
  • NFT drops
  • NFT tools

3.1 NFT Community

Building and maintaining a strong community is a challenging task, especially during a bear market when people may lose interest or leave for a break. However, Rarity Garden will do its best to grow its community through various measures and hopes that the existing community will help spread the word.

3.2 NFT Marketplaces

The NFT live trading feature has been a good start, but Rarity Garden isn’t stopping there. In collaboration with TAG Comics, we will be launching a new kind of marketplace with innovative features. It’s risky to be non-traditional, but we believe that the current marketplaces are only a temporary snapshot and that things will look very different in two years. Rarity Garden hopes to be among the first movers.

3.3 NFT Drops

The recent release of the New World Money collection by Val Bochkov on Rarity Garden was unusual in that it allowed people to return a secured floor and also own art by an artist who is supported by one of the most important art collectors in the world.

We plan to release more collections like this and work hard to educate the NFT space about what real art is. We hope that the Rarity Garden community will be at the forefront of this realization once it becomes common sense.

3.4 NFT Tools

The NFT tools being developed by Crosstec will be available for use on Rarity Garden. These include:

  • Mint builders
  • Mystery boxes
  • Farms
  • Collection builders
  • Pro wallets

Access to these tools will require $UNIVERSE tokens.

Conclusion

While the above is not meant to be a roadmap, it should give you an idea of where Rarity Garden is headed in 2023. However, specific roadmap updates will be released as Rarity Garden progresses.

Whether all of these plans will be fully achieved in 2023 will depend heavily on the help of the community and the growth of the Rarity Garden team. At some point, Rarity Garden will be looking for new team members to help make these plans a reality. Given the progress made in 2022, there is a good chance that we will succeed.
