There have been, and are, so many brilliant Black men and women who have spoken so many words in perfect alignment with your own that, but for the sheer force of their applicability, I would be disinclined to use the words of a White man to give authentic expression to a truth that every Black person inherently and epigenetically knows, and that only the exceedingly rare White person truly gets:
“The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” ~ William Faulkner
When I quote the statement, it’s typically accompanied by a photo I have of a grade-schooler, smiling as he’s being dressed up by his mom in his crispest, brightest KKK whites.
