Employee engagement means emotional commitment that employee have towards company’s goals and values. When employee is engaged he is willing to do that one extra mile. It is getting up in the morning thinking, “Great, I’m going to work. I know what I’m going to do today. I’ve got some great ideas about how to do it really well. I’m looking forward to seeing the team and helping them work well today”. Engaged employee is there to give not to get. Engagement is often mixed with satisfaction witch means that one is there just to do ones job. Satisfied employees are happy with their job and working environment but they are lacking passion towards mutual goals.
