Increase promotions with marketplace and logistic integration features — Krealogi UX Case Study
Hello, my name is Abdur Rasyid. UI/UX enthusiast. Now working as a computer practitioner in government agencies. I am going to share my design process of designing Marketplace and Logistic Integration Features of Krealogi App. This project is part of the UI/UX Training Program which held by the Ministry of Communication and Information with Skilvul and Krealogi as Challenge Partners. We do not work under a professional contract by Krealogi.
Timeline : Approx. 2 Month
Tools : Figma
Background
Krealogi is a mobile app developed to help MSMEs in developing business, which is focused on the development of supply chains in the craft business. In line with its development, Krealogi is able to present features of recording production, cash flow, and simple customer relationship management.
Marketing is a big problem for every MSME in developing its business. Selling online is a big solution that can be captured today. Managing many marketplace accounts is a problem that arises, so it needs app that can handle it. Currently there is no integration to Logistic (Expedition) and Marketplace features in Krealogi.
Goals
Easy marketplace and logistics integration processes
Roles and Responsibilities
In this project, I have collaboration with 3 friends, Ghisani Ghina, M. Luthfi, and Hariril. Our roles and responsibilities are the same, we are brainstorm ideas, design of the Marketplace Integration, we made design of Logistic Integration, prototyping and UX Researcher.
Design Process
In this case we chose to use design thinking as a design process approach that we did. Which consists of 5 steps ; Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
1 — Empathize
In this steps, we learns use brief information from Krealogi for analysis and for grup discussion. Here are the results :
Condition
- It is difficult to manage many marketplace accounts.
- Do not have the admin to manage many orders, so there are orders missed·
- There are not many logistics alternatives that can be accessed and become choices
Target User
· Age : 20–45 years
· Profession : SME’s enterpreneur
· Dom : Indonesia
· Have used Krealogi App or similar app
Apart from the information provided by Krealogi, my team and I conducted in-depth interviews as user research with respondents who matched the target user that had been created. In this user persona there are goals, frustrations, and also information that supports the design process.
2 — Define
After doing the research and observing all the user problems. My team and I defined the user problem from empathize result. We define the problem by finding the pain point and then we generalize the problem at the Pain Point in the form of How-Might We.
3 — Ideate
From the Pain Point and How Might We. we formulate the best solution to solve the problems that have been collected in the Define Stage.
Solution
How Might We : Creating applications that are integrated with logistic and markeplace to make it easier to estimate prices
Affinity Diagram
After the solution stage, we regoruped the results of the solutions that had been mad into 4 groups on the Afinity Diagram.
Prioritization Idea
After brainstormed and after the ideas are classified, then we created an Prioritization Idea to know which ideas should be prioritize. In this Priorization Idea there are 2 parameters which are User Value and Effort.
4 — Prototyping
At the Prototype stage, we make Task Flow then after that make Wireframe
Task Flow
Task Flow help to defines the process that the user goes through when performing a process. There are 4 main flows created, namely:
- Integration Features: Added Marketplace, Sync, Stop Connection;
- Redesign the catalog item appearance and Publish Items Feature;
- Order Notification feature from Marketplace, Check Delivery Status (Tracking), Integration of Receipts into Cashflow features.
- Logistic Services Setting Features
Wireframe
Wireframe is a framework for organizing an item on a website or application page. Wireframe helps to make it quickly and effectively from Task Flow to the low fidelity mock up.
UI Styleguide
The next step is UI styleguide components. This one is to make it standarize with all design style in one app. There are several types of the same components are combined into one variant. The components made are colour, typography, iconography, buttons, and text fields. We use Poppins font for font type text fields.
High Fidelity
After we completed step 3, we moved forward to Prototyping which mean High Fidelity (Hi-Fi) Interface and already connected to each other frame, and the link below will be shown the demo.
5 — Testing
Are our prototyping solving the problem? or how? In this part, we use in-depth interview for test with Krealogi user. We do usability testing using Single Ease Question and Survey.
Some question fos this session:
- Please introduce yourself? Name? Work? Age?
- How long have you been using Krealogi?
- Have you ever used a similar app other than Krealogi?
- What’s your favorite feature in Krealogi that you don’t find in other apps?
- In your opinion, what features have you not found in Krealogi but are in other applications?
- How often do you receive orders in 1 month? do you think the order is a lot??
- What are the obstacles in promoting sales?
- Do you use online sales marketplace applications such as Tokopedia, Shopee, etc.?
- What are your difficulties selling with all those applications? why?
- Have you ever used a certain application to manage all marketplace sales accounts? What application is that?
- What features do you like and don’t like about the app? why?
- So far, how about the delivery process in receiving orders? Are you having problem in that process
- What delivery features do you think should be in place to make selling easier?
Result
After we done the depth interview with Krealogi user, here with the result. Detail of result can see here
Conclusion
The result from Usability Testing, user feedback is positive, user friendly and hope this features can be implemented soon on Krealogi application. Because user don’t have any experience for sell his product in other marketplaces previously, any workshop need to provide it all.
