Until You Weren’t.

I despised you at first, I resented you

I loathed your very existence

I remember the first time my lips met you

Enjoyable is the last word I could use to describe that experience

I began to crave you

Your touch against my lips

The heat with which you burnt so passionately

You became my solace whether it was fatigue or sadness

At some point your flame was the only one I could see

The way I held you

It felt like you’d always be there for me, a constant

There was a different charm in you

You were always beautifully pleasant

Until you weren’t.

Until you weren’t

Pleasant anymore, just unable to set free

Until you weren’t

A solace, just a paper tube of resentment

Until you weren’t

Enjoyable anymore, just a thing to lament.
