I am extremely excited to share with all of you what I’ve working on lately and its potential to transform the Ethereum world. Worried about the ambitious expectations that the blockchain community has on Ethereum to become the foundation of the “Web 3.0”, I put together a team of blockchain engineers on a mission to scale Ethereum to the next level.

Currently, there are two known approaches to improving scalability: Layer-2 Solutions and Sharding. Each of them has its own unique set of challenges that have discouraged developers from tackling them and jumping into working on them as much as the community would like. We believe that there is a kind of developer “bystander effect”, where many protocol devs feel like there are tons of smarter people out there working on these problems and that these projects will just “happen”. However, a lot of time has passed and few teams outside of Ethereum Research have stepped up to the challenge.

At Prysmatic Labs, we are creating the first implementation of sharding for the go-ethereum client, the most popular repository for the Ethereum protocol. We are focused on being as transparent and practical as possible as an organization, and we will focus on delivering tangible results the community desperately needs.

Check out our site here and join our conversation on Gitter and Github if you want to get involved as a contributor! We will be posting our milestones on the major Ethereum development chat groups and on Reddit as we go along. We are currently looking for cryptographers and developers with experience in game theory, so if you think you fit the bill, contact me directly here.

Join us in making sure Ethereum becomes the backbone of the decentralized Internet 🚀
