Why there needs to be more Women in Tech
Dan Siepen

A nice and informative article. I’m currently enrolled as a computer science major and I have found that most of the students in my computer classes have been females. As a female, I’m pursuing the information technology field where I have found that the pay scale unlike the rest of the job market is equal to both male and female. The grandfathered corporations such as Cubic, SAIC, and some older government contacted companies are still male dominated and the pay scales are gender specific to men whose income may be as much as 45% more than a woman’s. I think as the older generation starts to retire and more of the newer generation moves in, as has been noted with many companies, the outlook will change. At any rate, more and more women are becoming involved in the computer science industry, but only a small percentage actually follow it all the way through.
