Your gene pool certainly does enter into your health equation, but as you mentioned, there is quite a bit one can do to keep fit. I am in my mid 70s and took up running/jogging when I was in my early 60s after I had a heart attack. Went through rehab and got feeling pretty good! So I took up running/hiking. I am positive it enabled me to get through some subsequent health situations a lot quicker than if I had lived a more sedentary lifestyle. At this point, I don't run anymore, but am always walking and hiking and being out in nature. That's a sure for me! Enjoyed your writing, Chris!
