The Forgotten Hero: He Fasted For 63 Days Until His Death
By July 20, blood had started oozing from his body, a clear indication of the toll the fast was taking on him
Can you imagine not eating for over two months?
Just take a moment to think about it. How long do you think a person can survive without food?
A day, maybe two, or three or four?
Now, imagine someone fasting for 63 days — 63 long, painful days without eating a single bite, enduring unimaginable pain, and slowly wasting away.
He Is None Other Than “Jatin Das”
This is the story of Jatin Das, a man whose name may not be as widely recognized as Mahatma Gandhi or Bhagat Singh, but whose sacrifice for India’s freedom was equally profound, if not more so.
Jatin Das, also known as Jatindra Nath Das, was a freedom fighter who gave his life in the most harrowing way possible: by starving himself to death in protest against the British Raj.
Why am I bringing up his story?
Today, I want to tell you about his life, his sacrifice, and why his name deserves to be remembered and honored.
