The Philippines is only one of the many countries suffering from COVID-19, but the economy has started seeing signs of recovery because of the accelerated digital transformation. The World Bank even said embracing digital technologies can help the nation bounce back from the crisis and even hit its target of becoming a middle-class society.

Thanks to the brilliant minds of the local information technology (IT) industry, they have been propping up businesses to ensure the continuity of their operations despite the hard lockdowns imposed in the past two years.

To further strengthen the sector’s commitment to delivering crucial services to the Philippine market, players in the IT industry gathered last October 24 to 25 to discuss the progress and share opportunities and challenges facing the sector.

SOFTCON 2022

The Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) once again organized SOFTCON, a conference for software developers and IT professionals in the Philippines.

Holding the theme “Metaverse Continuum,” the three-day conference was attended by top technology providers in the Philippines and abroad. With over 30 speakers, this year’s SOFTCON highlighted the roles of developers and designers in producing virtual worlds.

One of those who actively participated was Monstarlab Philippines, led by its managing director and founder of RPA Philippines Group Allan Tan.

Mr. Tan, also a member of the Board of Directors at PSIA, said the conference paved the way for IT professionals to expand their network and exchange ideas to boost and achieve industry growth.

L-R: Jovel Quiamco (Mobile Developer, Monstarlab PH), Allan Tan (Managing Director, Monstarlab PH), Tine Reboya (Business Development, Robotic Automation Expert — RAX), John Zidrex Andag (Developer, Monstarlab PH), Rovin Leaño (Developer, Monstarlab PH)

“It’s wonderful to see leaders of the IT industry get together in this event; to share the latest trends, best practices. We look forward to promoting more events that help improve the skills of our IT workforce in preparation for the technologies of the future,” Mr. Tan said.

Employees of Monstarlab Philippines also joined SOFTCON, including Tine Piedad, Business Development Officer of RAX — a unit of Monstarlab that focuses on equipping organizations with robotic process automation (RPA).

RAX has been contributing its knowledge through global technology talks and conferences, as well as training and forums to help organizations take advantage of RPA.

It has also been aiding local organizations’ digital shift, with clients in banking, insurance, and healthcare sectors.

With RAX’s software robots, businesses can seamlessly transform their system to free employees from recurring and rules-based tasks, allowing them to only focus on more valuable assignments.

Aside from being a leader in RPA technology, RAX also has a pool of automation experts that can craft a platform tailored to fit the needs of an organization — guiding them from deployment to the actual implementation.
