Blue ~ part 2

Blue is probably the most plentiful color in nature since the majority of our planet is covered by water as well as a blue sky on a clear day. It is such a refreshing color and can easily be captured in a nature photograph that happens to have water or sky in the background regardless of the color of the main subject. Many of my landscapes have blue in them and if it’s dawn or dusk everything is enveloped in a deep shade of blue no matter what color it is. Every once in a while I’m lucky enough to capture a brilliantly blue bird such as the Blue Jay or as you will see below, a Tree Swallow on a sunny day. Please enjoy this collection of blue and keep an eye out for the next in my series of colors, yellow.

The frost covered flowers made for some very interesting patterns in the cool morning light.
This Tri-colored Heron appears to be walking on water while it was hunting in the shallows.
The blue dawn sky and ocean just before the sun rises along the southern NJ coast.
A Blue Jay comes in for a landing at a bird feeder.
The Atlantic Ocean on a clear sunny day.
A Brown Pelican flies in front of the bright blue water in Florida.
Everything has a blue tint as these Bufflehead ducks swim by in the dawn light before sunrise.
A brilliant male Tree Swallow flies over water searching for insects.
