Invoking Angelic Assistance: Chamuel

Like Zadkiel, Chamuel is ranked in the second highest Choir of angels. He is not a member of the Dominions however but instead is the leader of the Powers.

Chamuel is the angel of love; and as the leader of the Powers, his primary purpose is in the opposition to and restraint of evil powers and fallen angels.

All of the Powers angels spend their lives fighting to control evil and its influences, both in the living realm, and that of death.

All the Powers angels, in fact, are charged with safely escorting those who have died to their rightful place in the afterlife. It is said that a Powers angel accompanies every passing soul from life to death, along with any other concerned spirits or beings who may be present.

Along with Jophiel, Zadkiel (and perhaps Raziel, which is sometimes also identified as Uriel), Chamuel is one of the seven Archangels.
