Every time you read one of these stories about someone who has reached a really old age, the interviewer asks them what their secret to longevity is.

And usually you can’t take it too seriously.

The sample size of people over 100 being interviewed is just too small to draw any meaningful conclusions from their advice.

Nevertheless, Vincent recommends staying positive and active, eating whatever you want in moderation, and if you are still young, drinking a lot of milk to fortify your bones!

His wife passed away 31 years ago. Get that. He lost his wife, THIRTY ONE YEARS AGO. And he’s still going strong.

One of the things that has seemed to keep Vincent going is his socializing with the “3–5 Club” — former volunteer firefighters like him who would get together at the firehouse every day to hang out from 3–5.

This is one of the most common issues old people face, especially when they lose their spouse. Being isolated at home can be very depressing and demoralizing
