#2. DEGA’s TOWN HALL MEETING

The wait was over as we met yesterday with the founder of this great project, Carlos Rene. Yes! that was the most special part about yesterday’s Town Hall Meeting because we finally got to hear everything we’ve all been waiting to hear about DEGA. Along with Freaketon, RichyGC and our Professor...our founder took his time to spell out his ideas, plans and aspirations for this project.
"Blurring the lines between the physical and virtual systems" is how he described the DEGA project and the metaverse as a whole in one of his opening sentences. Having been frustrated by the greediness of the bigger companies in extorting from what the end-users are supposed to have, Carlos Rene set out to start up a project that would give back total ownership from the so-called decentralized systems to us, the benefactors of his initiative. It was a very lovely, laid out speech about everything concerning DEGA, from the inspiration to the innovation, to implementation and even up to the aspiration of things to come. He made mention of projects and partnerships that are to be announced early next year and really interesting events to follow from that. Indeed, DEGA is on the right track and in very safe, capable hands.

The event that lasted just above an hour didn't have only our founder talking. The Professor anchored the event and another one of our own, RichyGC also spoke to us. In one of his words that I quote, he said, "DEGA is not about the things people believe, it's about empowering people that need the tools to excel in their lives". His views have always been aiming towards this ideology and he sees DEGA as a project that has similar goals. These words were beautifully handled and if we could applaud during this event, I'm sure everyone would have been on their feet at this point.
This meeting would never have been complete without hearing from one man, Freaketon, as he is widely known in the community. When asked about how he sees the community and the strides it has taken in the last weeks, he said he is pleased with it’s growth but more concerned with building a tribe. He talked about the ambassadorship program and how a lot of people have come together in order to build this community. He addressed the reoccurring question on the selection of ambassadors by saying "We will all be ambassadors as long as we are together in one mind, because everything we do is generating value for the DEGA ecosystem" with our Professor adding to the conclusion of this session by saying "What makes any community scale is its growing consciousness and DEGA have shown that".

As expected, there have been so many questions since the announcement of this project and it was a chance to have answers as we had our founder with us. When asked about how he sees the current state of the blockchain, how it affects DEGA and how DEGA is capitalizing on this he said, “let us know that things are generally always starting out as overhype and then falling back to normal, and this is no different in the cryptoverse". He thoroughly addressed this matter as this is one of the biggest questions surrounding the project. A few quotes from this session:
- It’s been a hard year, with most systems failing mostly due to arrogance and corruption rather than the insufficiency of AI.
- We can taste and experience the emergence of new types of system that will generate new behaviors.
- In this Bear market, hype is low and for those of us interested in creating value, this is an exciting time.
When asked about what the focus of DEGA is, now that many companies are silent and flying low, he said, "Many companies are silent and startups aren’t launching because they’re all worried about making a quick buck. We at DEGA are focused on providing true value for people. We want to help developers and end-users that will benefit from systems found on the web3 space without having to think about what is happening" among many other things.

It was indeed a very successful and interactive meeting with all areas of discussion being touched and expanded on. An hour of great value had been added to everyone who was present and a burning desire to recommit and keep the DEGA flag flying is what we left with. For those who weren't in attendance, this was worth the wait and we can't wait to have you again next week and even beyond!
