Whilst all you say is essentially true and I do not mean to run it down in anyway, to an author this is anathema. Imagine if Leo Tolstoy used this methodology to write “War and Peace” the whole tale would be; “They Lived, they died. The End. “Anne Frank’s diary would have read. “Hid” The End. Herman Hesse and Proust would never have written a word. I do agree that to be concise is an excellent art and when instructing, essential but words are used for many purposes and always “dumbing down” or condensing helps only a few.
