Thanks for the tips Mattan, I couldn’t agree more and I’d love to show this article to my bosses. We’re in finance and they often send out long emails to managers e.g. budget instructions.

Long paragraphs, important words are randomly in bold, in CAPITAL LETTERS and underlined here & there. I wouldn’t read it myself, let alone grab busy non-finance people’s attention.

It’s always best not to be too self-involved and read it back in the readers’ eyes.
