So Here’s What I’m Thinking September 14

Last Sunday at Hillcrest we started a new series called Navigating Our Emotions. It’s a series based on Psalms and how they help us express what we often fail to have words for as well as point to emotions that should be a normal part of the Christian experience.

Part one of that series was about sorrow — it can be found here in video form or audio podcast.

This week, we’re taking a different turn in the Psalms and talking about joy in light of significant difficulties that we face.

As I was studying this afternoon, I was struck by how often the Psalms declare God’s pleasure over us. He’s not simply enduring us. He’s enjoying us and in that enjoyment, we discover that we belong to Him.

Recently I listened to an episode of the Carey Nieuwhoff Leadership Podcast that featured Bethel Church leader Kris Vallotton.

Kris makes some incredible statements about belonging and the fatherhood of God, including the quote above, which I’m using on Sunday.

You can listen to that interview here— I think you’ll enjoy it.

Join us Sunday morning at Hillcrest, 9am and 10:45am. We’d love to see you.

Like what you read? Give Randy Bohlender a round of applause.

From a quick cheer to a standing ovation, clap to show how much you enjoyed this story.
