Subtle. Believable. At first, I thought the story was a cliché — a bullying, poor boy, new clothes, the first day of school, the incident at the water fountain itself. But the denouement was right on —in effect he is bullying someone (something) smaller than himself, humiliating them. It is his revenge — a totally age appropriate response but delightfully unexpected. There’s the beginning of a unique writer here!
