Great piece. The irony here is clear whether intended or not but I read until the end which is a good sign. Your sentiments capture why I’ve stopped following writers on social media. I can’t stand reading posts touting their books twenty times a day. Writers wind up pitching to writers and end up becoming a incestuous group of shut ins crafting nothing of merit. I would add I don’t trust writers who haven’t actually gotten out of their own small writing groups to publish or share their work to strangers. Loved this piece. I almost wish you would write about writing because it’s very entertaining.
