Emma, it’s not the offence people take that makes you a good satirist, it’s what they take away. Satire isn’t to make people angry. If anything, they should be relieved. Life is coloured—not by what we see—but what’s missed. Life is funny and, at times, absurd. Taking it seriously is the cause of more ulcers and heart attacks than smoking or obesity. As for a “satire off,” I’m happy to take on you—and your grandfather.
