Friends don’t leave because you’ve said—or done—something wrong. They leave because it’s time. Some of my friends have been around 40 years. It’s not a milestone. They’re just people who’ve remained consistent. Those that haven’t—those who didn’t feel the friendship was worth saving—they move on, and you should, too. Nothing causes anxious insomnia like trying to hang onto imagery. We’re not imaginary. True friends know that.
