When a black fighter won ‘the fight of the century,’ race riots erupted across America
Matt Reimann

Love this story, Matt, especially the first line in the newspaper article: “Race rioting broke out like prickly heat…” Beside this being an amazing story, it also shows how terribly generic reportage has become. We have no more lines like “fleas in a Missouri hog bed,” and no Jack London saying, “Jeffries must emerge from his alfalfa farm and wipe the smile off Johnson’s face.” Looks like social media may soon be the only place where writing has colour and not the strict layman’s pulque of modern day journalism.
