Shaunta, just so you know, the readership on Quora is different than Medium. I compare my viewership each week, and the interests differ considerably. Also, if you’re following topics, there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as you can offer your own perspective. I think the comment made was more about choosing subjects that appear popular, rather than concentrating on what bugs you or enlivens you. Readers pick up on that—even if it’s something that’s pertinent to them. Everyone’s got shit blinders and it isn’t hard to spot the brown stuff oozing. The passionate win, the panders don’t.
