The Annual Hog’s Buffet

From “Life As A Bean,” my yet published children’s book of poems.

Every year the hogs line up
For the Annual Hog’s Buffet
Each hog eats as much as they like
All served on big metal trays
We wanted to see this feast for ourselves
But we must’ve arrived too late
All we found was a couple of hogs
Discussing the food they ate
The others decided to call it a night
Saying they needed their rest
Tomorrow they’re going to a big barbecue
As very prominent guests.
