What contemptible dreck! An engineer expressed an opinion which may well be true. Wanting a diverse workforce open to all qualified applicants is one thing, enforcing a rigid ban on the expression of a valid opinion as to why engineering jobs in particular are mostly filled by men is another. Firing every person holding such opinions isn’t going to advance Google’s apparent goal of absolute gender equity throughout its operations one whit — setting a rigid timetable for the achievement of that goal soon might well be catastrophic for Google, which is why it has not done so.
