The Client

Westboine Park provides all the benefits of life in a rustic cedar clad town home or apartment “at cost” with no landlord no lease and the right to lifetime residency.

Through co-operation, members of Westboine Park are able to participate in the operation of their community and share in its success. Members are the owners of the Co-operative, each having one vote. Membership is obtained through the purchase of shares on approval of the Board of Directors.

Members enjoy a choice of homes to suit the changing needs of your family through the years that you live in Westboine Park.

The Pain

Westboine had an aging Northern Telecom Meridian Norstar phone system. Designed in the 1990s, this is very system out of date. It lacked many of the features available on today’s PBX (Private Branch Exchange) phone systems.

After hours emergency calls could not be handled directly by their phone system. They were being handled through a 3rd party which was generating additional costs.

The Solution

Provincial Tel worked within the budgetary constraints of the co-op to replace their aging PBX with a plan that was on time and on budget. Rather than install a new PBX onsite, the co-op opted for a hosted solution instead. Provincial Tel will take on the responsibility for providing hosted PBX service. This eliminates the risk of a single point of failure.

The Results

  • The complete phone system replacement was completed with minimal downtime.
  • After hours emergency calls are now handled much better.
