Rose Marie McCoy — American songwriter

Rose Marie McCoy (April 19, 1922 — January 20, 2015) was an American songwriter and composer. She was known for her prolific work in writing songs, particularly in the genres of rhythm and blues (R&B) and rock and roll. McCoy collaborated with many notable musicians and artists, including Big Maybelle, Nat King Cole, Ruth Brown, Elvis Presley, and Ike & Tina Turner, among others.

Some of her most famous compositions include “Tryin’ to Get to You” (recorded by Elvis Presley), “After All I’ve Been Through” (recorded by Aretha Franklin), and “It’s Gonna Work Out Fine” (recorded by Ike & Tina Turner). McCoy’s contributions to the music industry were significant, particularly during the 1950s and 1960s, and she is remembered as one of the pioneering women in the field of songwriting.
