Dutch Prisons Are Shutting Down, Here Is Why

Something odd is happening in Netherlands, which haven’t took place in the era ever. Netherlands are about to shut prisons. Isn’t it a very surprising decisions by the Dutch? In India, we always see the prisons full of convicts. In places like the US, due to high number of prisoners, there is no room for independant cells. The prisoners have to share it with a cellmate..

But as we heard about Netherlands, prisons are shutting down because the the country is so safe that prisons are remaining vacant without prisoners. This might not be very surprising if you look at the decreasing crime rate since 2004.

We can say that the Dutch prison system have succeeded to wash the crime. Here, almost all criminals have given up on the crime route.
