Move Over WiFi, It’s Time For Li-Fi
The world today is sprinting with high speed tech. Few decades ago, Food-Clothing-Shelter were the basic needs of humans but ‘good internet’ is now added to the list.
In the need for speed, we are always hungry for faster internet WiFi speeds. So it’s time to bid adieu to WiFi for an even faster solution. Now newly invented wireless internet access technology LiFi is coming your way. LiFi is a wireless technology that transmits high-speed data using visible light communication, or VLC.
Imagine, switching on a bulb, and it will not only be a source of light, but will also transmit wireless internet to your phones and other devices. It seems, we need to keep on the lights of our room while sleeping too?
The devices is invented by Harald Haas from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland back in 2011. He demonstrated how the flickering light from a single LED could transmit far more data than a cellular tower! A 1.5GB data will download in a just a second. Isn’t it cool? LiFi is 100 times faster than WiFi.
We bow you Mr. Haas for the brilliant invention.
