Early days

Robert began his career in 1980, his debut role was in a Broadway musical known “American Passion”. From their he began his struggle that would one day put him into the road that has steep trenches of down-low and heights that no mountaineer can ever scale. He began to take up smaller roles or whatever he could find, but he was never appreciated much. His gig at SNL where he was cast with other new members, the show was an absolute failure and and he along with cast members were booted out. He got his first major role in with Molly Ringwald in The Pick-up Artist (1987). His first big break came in the same year when he played the role of a drug addict rich guy in film that was on Bret Easton Ellis novel ‘Less Than Zero’.

Lowest point

Downey had a good run since the success of Less Than Zero. He enjoyed the high of both his drug addiction problems and the popularity he earned over the years. His lowest point of life came when he replicated the character he played in Less Than Zero. Much like the fictional character, Downey lost control of his life and was deep in legal problems that saw him serving jail time. From 1996–2001, Robert saw the worst phase of his life. He was a hard cookie and refused to give in. He fought the circumstances and came out stronger then ever. After suffering 5 years of drug abuse and frequent visits to the county jail. He decided to hang it all up and focus on finding help in purging his addiction to drugs.

Then, he became The Iron Man (2008)

He got sober in around 2004 after coming out of rehab. Now a totally changed man he turned his attention to finding work again. Doing small time roles and picking up everything that came his way, he pulled through the struggling years. Then came 2008 the year of Iron Man. We all know about the story of his younger self where he tore out a comic book of a nerd and continued to bully and tease him. That time, had he known this will come to him as a ray of hope that will purge his bad days away, he wouldn’t have done that. So he took on the role and that was the best thing that ever happened to him. He is now loved admired and respected all over the globe with millions of fans and counting.

Present day? Do we need to write about that everyone knows what this guy is up-to, he is the face of Marvel and is everywhere.

So which side are you gonna be on?
