The winning streak continues at IIT Delhi
On 10th April 2016 a team “Aerothrottle” from Nagpur again secured the 2nd position in grand finale of Boeing national aeromodelling competition. The competition was held by IIT Delhi in cooperation with 4 other IIT’s and aviation company Boeing.
The teams were supposed to win zonals in order to participate in finals. The team aerothrottle from Nagpur won 1st position in zonals of Boeing national aeromodelling competition held at IIT Kharagpur on 23 Jan 2016.
The Final competition consisted of two round, the object dropping round and the maneuver round. There were constraint on length, weight, propeller size & battery selections. The team aerothrottle managed to perform well in both the rounds and secured 2080 points.
All over India there were around 300 teams from 200 colleges which includes more than 700 student. Among these teams only 13 made to the finals.
The team aerothrottle from Nagpur consist of an engineering student Gaurav Kolhe & Ritesh Nagrikar from the Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and research & Charukesh Kapse from Priyadarshani college of engineering as well as palash rahate . the team won cash prize of 50,000 in both rounds.
From past 4 years the Team has been participating in such various aeromodelling competition & has achieved the success 13 times across the various IIT’s & their winning streaks continues. They were the champions of this competition last year. The president of Boeing India congratulated the team and offered internship for their amazing performance. The team will now be participating in extreme flight championship international competition under the guidance of Boeing India which will be held at Austria this year.
