Lately I’ve been in a slump. I think we all know what it feels like to be in one. I compare it to being stuck in quicksand. You’re just walking along minding your own business until one day you notice your feet are stuck to the ground. It’s okay though, because you figure it would just go away, but soon enough you realize it’s not going away and you start to notice that your slowly sinking.
How do I get out of this slump?
Momentum. Building momentum can be a difficult, but important in getting out of a slump. Whether it’s studying for school, eating better, or developing better habits, momentum is key. Momentum describes a continual state of motion. When an object is in motion, it is easier to stay in motion. Kind of like jogging. The first few steps are hard, but once you get moving, it’s easier to continue jogging.
How to build momentum?
Start small (but start!). Your mind will think of a thousand excuses not to start, but you have to fight it and start. The continual feeling of starting and accomplishing what you set out to do(no matter how small) is something that will propel you out of your slump. It’s the little accomplishments over time that leads to massive changes you want. Ok, that’s all I got for now.
