Dallas Dates That Will Raise Your Heart Rate
Dinner and a movie is a classic, but romance requires a willingness to shake things up. Luckily, Dallas is a huge city with enough activities to try something new every weekend for years. Here is a list of date ideas to get you and your sweetheart moving, falling, sweating, and most importantly, giggling!
As an added bonus, exercising releases endorphins that lower your stress levels and raise your sex drive, so you can go home and miss most of the movie later, if you catch my drift.

The What, Where, and When:
Laughing Yoga is a class that combines stretching, movement and fake-it-til-you-make-it laughter in order to induce a meditative state. It is held every Wednesday evening from 7:00–8:15 at Cosmic Cafe. The instructor tries to get the participants in touch with their “inner-child”, but if you (like me) were a serious and quiet kid, this can feel daunting and scary. I recommend saving this date for after you have both accidentally heard one another fart, because walking in a circle imitating an elephant can be even more blush-inducing than passing gas.
Cost:
This is a great date for having fun on a budget! Your honey will appreciate your creativity and effort, and your bank account will appreciate your frugality. Cosmic Cafe’s yoga and meditation classes are all by donation. We would suggest donating six or seven dollars per person, but they are understanding of all financial circumstances.
Sweat Level:
LOW. You can gel your hair or wear a full face of makeup and leave looking ready for pictures.
Competitiveness:
LOW. The goal is that you both leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and a little bit silly.

The What, Where, and When:
You can head over to Trophy Room any night between 6pm and 2am to ride their mechanical bull!
Cost: $5 a ride doesn’t sound expensive, but keep in mind that your ride isn’t likely to last more than a minute (But on the bright side, that might lower her expectations for later, amirite?). You should also factor in that you’ll both want to imbibe a shot or two of tequila for liquid courage, and maybe this is just me, but if I force tequila on my stomach it will demand compensation in the form of tacos. Conveniently, Trophy Room is located only a couple of blocks from TacosNTequila! I think this would be a charming and telling first date that would foster closeness.
Sweat Level: If you’re riding her right, your core will DEFINITELY be putting in some work. Even if you don’t break a sweat you can count on your hair being a disaster by the time you get bucked to the ground.
Competitiveness: I’ll rate this a solid MEDIUM. This activity is as competitive as the participants. I get vicious over a game of scrabble, so you can bet I’ll be forcing my date to compare how long we lasted. (36 seconds by the way. I have no bragging rights.) Share your time in the comments!

The What, Where, and When:
The Social House back patio is open Friday and Saturday nights, as well as Saturday mornings for brunch! The back patio has all sorts of larger-than-life games, including giant Connect Four, Beer Pong with solo cups the size of trash cans, and my personal favorite and best date night idea- HUMAN SOCCER BALLS. If your primary reaction upon watching bubble boy was envy toward getting to bounce around in a giant clear ball, than this game is for you! My opinion is to save this for a third date, because you want to be comfortable enough with each other to let your guard down and literally sweep each other off your feet.
Cost: Free! You just need to sign a waiver acknowledging that injury or death is not the fault of Social House, and you’re all set to channel any of your day’s frustration into running at your loving and supportive partner with all of the strength your body has to expend.
Sweat Level: High! You’re encased in a hot, sticky bubble and your heart is racing. Expect to get a little messy.
Competitiveness: High! This is a great way to compete to decide who cleans the bathroom this week in an affectionate and fun way. Afterwards, the loser can buy a round of alcoholic Capri Suns- Social House’s specialty drink.
