Dear Deepika Padukone,
I don’t know if I’ll ever meet you in this life. But there are few things to say.
Especially since I dreamt of you last night and woke up this morning smiling. Even as I sat for morning meditation, I couldn’t stop smiling.
How wonderful is that?
For someone like you who has no direct connection to me but has the “ability” to make another soul happy by your presence, yes even in the dream. That got me thinking about your positive presence in real life and reel life too.
I have seen a couple of your recent interviews and one interviewer, I remember, mentioned how you are conquering the cinema world. Oh dear Deepika, I wish to say that, your presence has become the way it has because you have conquered yourself. It shows.

From how you sense energy at sets, getting into the zone and the surety you have when it comes to decisions about films. You are on point. Nothing can stop you because something much bigger than you is working through you.
When Ellen De Generes first came out, Madonna reached out to her and offered her some inspiring advice that Ellen remembers to this day. It was the following quote by Martha Graham.
There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.
People often think that self-realisation is a far away concept only reserved for people who want to go off to the mountains and meditate. But you are a true example of it in the current times — being completely open to what wants to be expressed through you. You meditate, don’t you?
I have never had an artiste whom I have followed this closely. Ever. I know I will watch every movie you’re in till my last day. Each time I finish watching a film of yours, I come out inspired and am even more in awe. Is that even possible?
You are so much more a person first before anything else. Like your Dad, you have made the best out of life circumstances, low or high, to be where you are today, as you are, spreading positivity all around, even to this girl in Singapore in her dream. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Deepika, your light shines so bright. This is all I wanted to tell you.
May God always bless you, always.
All my love,
Lavanya
Ps. That dream that I had? It was full of tragedy and passion — the best kind. I think it might have been something to do with you saying that it is a bigger compliment when a lady makes a pass at you. That kind of happened there. The dream was a movie and we both were the two leads — two female leads and the society around them. Evolving with the times I say? ;)
