Seafood Spaghetti Recipe

An Italian favourite
Depending on where you are in Italy, you’ll find very different types of common dishes. Northern regions like Milan and Bologna are well-known for risotto and ragù, central cities like Rome are where you’ll find quality carbonara, and southern regions along the Amalfi coast are popular for chillies and seafood.
You’re more likely to find seafood in coastal towns, especially in the south. You can still enjoy fish-based dishes in the north but they’re far less common. In southern areas like Puglia, Naples, or Sardinia, you can expect to see plenty of hearty seafood dishes such as stewed mussels or lobster, and they can often feature a Greek or Spanish twist.
Restaurant-quality meals at home
It’s easy to enjoy quality meals at home. With our selection of authentic Italian ingredients, you’ll have everything you need to bring maximum flavour to your homemade pasta dishes.
We particularly love this recipe in the Real Italiano kitchen. Spaghetti is always a popular choice and the prawn and scallop mix infused with lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil add an elegant touch to the finished dish. So, if you’re looking to treat someone special to a classy, restaurant-quality dinner, we’ve got you covered.
Cooking seafood at home
Prawns and scallops work really well together as they both cook quickly — they only need a couple of minutes on each side to cook through and gain some colour. If you haven’t made these at home before, we recommend keeping an eye on them, making sure they’re not left on the heat for too long. If they’re overcooked, they’ll lose their texture and turn quite tough.
Seafood alternatives
If you’re not a fan of prawns or scallops, there are plenty of other seafood options that would go perfectly with the flavours in this recipe. You could opt for clams, mussels, lobster, or crab — they will all pair really well with the lemon and garlic.
To bring out the seafood flavours even more, you could use fish stock instead, which will up those aromas and the creamy sauce will help balance them out, so they don’t overpower the whole dish.
You could also substitute the seafood for diced chicken breast or some meat-free pieces if you don’t fancy prawns or scallops.
Authentic Italian ingredients
Our top-quality ingredients are your secret weapon in the kitchen. They will effortlessly add key spices to your dishes and bring a taste of Italy home. To make the most of this fantastic pasta recipe, here are the ingredients we recommend to boost the seafood flavours:
Casa Rinaldi Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Lemon
This lemon-infused olive oil has a fresh, citrusy flavour that will perfectly complement the seafood in this recipe. It’s an excellent way of easily seasoning and adding a refreshing taste to the prawns and scallops, and if you haven’t got the additional lemon juice, then the flavoured olive oil is plenty to complete this dish.
Familia Suarez Diced Garlic
Made with high-quality purple garlic, this jar of diced garlic is ready to go — no peeling or crushing needed. It will add intense flavour to this pasta dish that blends incredibly with the taste of seafood, and when paired with citrusy lemon, they make an ideal combination.
