I often see new and useful companies on the education market that I want to share. Therefore, I have compiled this collection.

I have previously compiled a similar selection from 10 other companies. Perhaps it will be useful to you. We sometimes add courses of some startups (which offer online courses in digital and not only) to the Kursfinder. But I can’t hide other cool projects from you either.

AWSM Bank

It is a financial literacy platform for teens.

It is a mobile banking for teenagers with a learning function. The platform allows parents to simulate a credit card with a debit card so that teens can manage their money in a secure environment. Credit cards from AWSM look and function like real-life credit cards. The app also has a parent reward feature that allows kids to “earn” money doing household chores.

Parents control the child’s financial expenses: they receive notifications about his spending, set a daily and monthly limit and can deactivate the card at any time. More than 100 financial literacy courses are available in the app in short 30-second TikTok-style videos.

The service was launched by Kazakhstani Alibek Zhunisbaev. Last year, his project raised1$50,000 from the American accelerator 500 Startups and received another $650,000 from business angels. The service was recently in beta testing. Within three years, the team hopes to increase the number of users to three million.

Qwant

Online programming school from Kazakhstan. Suddenly, yes.

This is a joint project with the participation of the cloud platform QWASAR. Training is provided by profession: full-stack developer, software-engineer, architect, data / cloud engineer, AI / ML and data scientist.

The program is designed for people with basic knowledge of programming, and all candidates for the school are selected through an entrance test and an interview. The beginner’s program offers one year of study, and the course for more experienced candidates lasts 6 months.

There are no teachers or lectures at QWANT. The process is built according to the method of active learning, where the working environment is transferred to the educational one, and students work together on projects and gain practical experience.

Based on the results of training, graduates are issued non-state certificates from BCPD and QWASAR. They also receive assistance in finding employment in leading Kazakhstani companies.

StudySmarter

German abstract sharing app is one of the fastest growing Edtech services in Europe.

Students can use the app for free as the startup makes money from advertising. StudySmarter’s clients include such companies as Accenture, Deutsche Bahn, Audi, KPMG. The pandemic has become a stimulating factor for the growth of the startup — the transition to online education has worsened the academic performance of many students, and the platform fills in the gaps and helps to learn more effectively.

They plan to enter the US market in 2022.

Teachmint

It is an online teaching platform that has combined the capabilities of Zoom, Google Forms and Facebook into a single service.

More than 700 thousand teachers are registered in the application. The startup provides digital audiences for them to teach students and schoolchildren online. Platform users can record classes, create online tests, schedule online, and set up reminders for upcoming webinars. Attendance statistics are kept automatically. There is an English version, but the application is focused primarily on the Indian market.

Solvery

It is a service that helps to find mentors in IT. It is aimed at beginners who are taking their first steps in development or design.

Mentors help to understand complex issues, build a portfolio, and work out a professional development strategy. Also in Solvery, already experienced specialists will be able to pump skills or get acquainted with related areas.

To start classes, you will need to select the area of interest, a mentor and leave a request on the website. After that, the project team negotiates with the student and mentor about a convenient time for a test call to get acquainted, approve goals and schedule further meetings. Lessons take place through the Zoom platform.

Yuanfudao

It is the largest EdTech service in China providing online lessons for schoolchildren. Although China now wildly regulates the school sector.

The company offers a varied program: from classes for kindergartners and English lessons for elementary grades to courses in basic subjects and preparation for exams.

Yuanfudao owns many subsidiary services. These include Xiaoyuan Kousuan math test app, Zebra AI preschool education platform, Yuantiku online test bank, Yuansouti Q&A service, and others.

Drops

A startup from Tallinn presents a new way of learning languages. The app is focused on vocabulary. The team launched it in 2015. It has become the fastest growing language learning app for iOS and Android.

languagedrops.com

There are very attractive pictographic word games inside the app. It helps users to immerse themselves in a new language, drop by drop. Users can choose any of 36 languages. 5 minutes every day is enough for you to make language learning a part of your daily life. In 2018 they were awarded the “Best App” from Google, and in 2020 they released Droplets — a version for children ages 8–17.
