Where to start with this BS piece of “journalism”. As a Sanders supporter in the primary and a Clinton supporter in the general, I’m disgusted by the continued attack on the center-left by the far left to the detriment of everything the far left cares about. You are doing nothing but helping Republicans erase envionmental regs and appoint lifetime conservative hacks throughout our judiciary while you sit on your high horse and argue a position that might get you somewhere in parliamentary system, but in the system we have in the US does nothing but promote the policies you hate most. Shame on you.
Your distortion of the history of DNC “fraud” doesn’t stand up to scrutiny (and didn’t stand up in court). The DNC staff obviously didn’t like Bernie. H ran on a platform essentially painting these carreer liberls as bad people, so do you really blame them? But the DNC actually doesn’t have the power to do what you accuse it of doing. They schedule debates, raise money, and plan the convention. That’s it. They “coordinate” with all campaign on the debate dates, and in the end there were an abundance of debates in response to criticism from Dem voters. If you think they “rigged” the election through scheduling too few debates, you should look at Turkey and Russia and Iran for tips on what rigged elections look like. Hint: hosting 6 vs 4 debates of out the 12 or so we had during the primary ain’t it. There was such a buzz of misinformation from the left (and targeting the left) trying to bolster this narriative during the primary, such that now you just treat it as fact. It’s not.
All that aside, from a purey practical perspective, we do not live in a perfect world, and no candidate or party will be perfect. Smart people work with the tools they have strategically to get the outcomes they want, even while they invest in improving those tools. In a country of diverse people, if you demand perfection you will always lose. Always. The Bernie or Bust movement got exactly zero of their priorities by sabotaging the Democratic candidate in the general election. Wall Street may have been friendly with Clinton, but under Trump they literally run the country. Clinton may have balanced a strong pro-renewable stance with tolerance for natural gas as bridge-fuel, but Trump repealed CPP, pulled us out of Paris Accords, and handed the EPA, DOE, and Interior Department over to the extraction industry.
Your side, like children, like religious zealots, argue that we should demand perfection and sabotage anything short of it. We will not win the House and prevent further right-wing Supreme Court nominees with that attitude. Obama would never have passed Obamacare with that attitude. We would not have 2 liberal minority women on the Supreme Court with that guiding philosophy. You are bad for America. Please stop.
For those reading and not brainwashed by the “___ or Bust” approach to politics, I urge you to get involved, make the Democratic party better, but recognize it for what it is: the only national vehicle for a diverse group of left-of-center voters to win national/federal elections. Period. Use it. Don’t burn it down. It’s been tried, and we all see the disaster we got as a result.
Down with _____ or Bust politics. #indivisible
