OK, so I had a bias coming in to this article: I am not that liberal, and I also don’t like the “F” word, and what’s more, I figured that if that many people were questioning your arguing tactics, perhaps you were not a very good persuasive writer and heck maybe you deserved their tear-downs.
BUT HERE’S THE THING: — I read through several of your articles, and you’re great! You’re engaging and articulate, you back up your stuff, and you make good points and use a lot of original thinking.
It’s very clear most of your articles are primarily anecdotal, so these guys need to just back off. They don’t agree with you, so they go and look up your credentials hoping they can say, “You don’t know squat. Look, you’re just a ______.” And then they find out you’re a lawyer and they’re like, “Oh.” So they have to make some obscene comment about it.
I think this article should be an opportunity to prove these guys wrong. It needs to be more than a rant. You’ve got a substantial point here. Take out some of the cussing, and go beef it up with some socratic stuff that you’re so good at or you’re just proving these guys right by reacting emotionally.
Just my take. I enjoy your stuff.
