Great points. The lack of open data in Rio is something that keeps making me wonder why is it so difficult for our government to deliver people-focused solution. Rio’s Operations Center collects several interesting data such as rain gauges information, traffic lights status, constructions along the city and much more. However, much of those are not accessible to all and when it’s open, it’s hard to find on the web.

I really wonder why opening data is so difficult, since those information do not threat public safety.
