My one thing is to follow up with person I’ve been teaching classes for (can’t really call her my employer since I never completed any paperwork for her). She owes me for the entire summer’s worth of teaching. I’ve already put in my notice that I won’t be teaching after next week, and have requested to be paid for the backlog this week. She agreed that she would, but we’ll see. I’m trying to remain nice and professional, but also… would YOU want to be paid 2 months after you finished a task for someone? (Note: I know freelancers/self-employed folks do this sort of thing all the time. However, our agreement was being paid every other week, so this is out of hand. Also, freelancers are usually smart enough to get something in writing ahead of a project… I felt like I didn’t need to do that since we have had a good relationship money-wise up until this point!)
